IT Assistant

Position Overview

The Cybersecurity Specialist plays a key role in strengthening the university’s cybersecurity posture by implementing security controls, responding to incidents, and ensuring compliance with security policies. This role acts as the first line of defense in detecting and mitigating cyber threats, working closely with the Cybersecurity Associate and Team Lead to secure the university’s digital assets. The Specialist is responsible for investigating security incidents and improving security awareness among faculty, staff, and Students.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of email configuration and backups
• Network setup and basic troubleshooting (LAN, WiFi, routers)
• Software installation and updates (Windows, Office, Antivirus)
• Basic troubleshooting of desktops, printers, biometric devices

Experience

• 0-1 Years

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, network security, and encryption technologies
• Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS controls.
• Familiarity with vulnerability assessment tools and endpoint security solutions. Basic scripting knowledge (Python, PowerShell) for automating security tasks. Awareness of cloud security principles (Azure, Google Cloud). Ability to analyze security logs and identify anomalies.
